I'm having a decent FAWM. I am listening to a TON of songs over there, so my listening here is sort of curtailed until March (ha, ha). I got through the tune and felt it needed a little something extra so I add some RT harmonica. I actually used two harmonica patches, the 685 for most of the 2nd half and the 602 for the riff right before the 2nd chorus. I tried to add some rocking piano by John (#1565), but it kept playing the same lick over and over again! I must have regenerated 10+ times. I don't want to call any RT useless, but for me in this specific instance, it was about as close as you can come! Man, at 68 I think about this frequently -- it's what drives the two of us to spend 75% of our time playing outdoors cycling and kayaking. Great sentiment in this song.
And that sentiment is wrapped up in a cool laid back package. The production really supports the fine vocal and lyric. I think the harp sits fine in the mix. This one begs VIDEO!!

Kevin, That's a real fun song. The harmonica tracks sound great. I don't think we hear enough of those around here. Nicely sung and produced. I enjoyed it.

tommyad: I can't remember who I first using those harmonica patches, but I remember hearing them and saying "I gotta use those!". I did have to mix and match #'s 682 and 602 to get it the way I wanted. Realtracks are great!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing.
