Most of the updates allow you to update from an earlier version and it does not matter if you miss an update. For instance, the latest Band-in-a-Box update says:

"Band-in-a-Box Version 2014 Build 381 Update (40 MB)
This patch will update Band-in-a-Box 2014 to Build 381 from any previous 2014 build."

But I like to keep track of the specific changes for each update and you only get this detail in the update information at the time it is released (although you can always look back), so I keep an update file which has a print of every update. I think this is the best way but then I'm a bit pedantic about filing.

Once you have installed an update, as Matt advised, the About Band-in-a-Box menu item under 'Help' will show as follows:

"Band-in-a-Box for Windows

Version 2014 (381)"
