Check the specs on this interface my friend. I think you may have this interface confused with another larger one.

http://us.focusrite.com/usb-audio-interfaces/scarlett-2i2/key-features

It has only 2 inputs and 2 outputs. It has 2 preamps and no mention anywhere that I saw that the inputs or outputs are stereo. Notice the setup diagram is showing mono inputs.

Single guitar in one (mono) single mic in the other (mono) and the stereo stage piano is shown routed into both channels to allow "stereo" .

Outputs on the rear are clearly marked "Left" and "Right".

edit:

This interface is very close to the one I have, the Focusrite SAFFIRE. The biggest difference between mine and the Scarlett 2i2 is that the Saffire does in fact have 8 unique programmable outputs on the back side. Inputs are the same. Physically, mine has 4 inputs but you can only use one out of the two for each channel at a time.

It's a great little interface. Certainly, use the ASIO drivers with it. Be sure to choose the correct mono input side and not the STEREO input.
