1) I have quite a few style files in sub-folders in my main BB folder. Apparently the style picker dialog only finds styles in the main BB folder since none of the styles in the sub-folders show up in the list.
2) I followed the instructions in the help file to add a memo to a user created style using the style wizard. Unfortunately, neither the 'user category' nor the style itself shows up in the style picker after rescanning the styles. Also, the other styles found entry disappeared and only reappeared after deleting the LS3 file and rescanning the style list.
Are you editing the .LS3 file directly or using the StylePicker editor to create it? If your problem happens after using the editor, a screenshot of editor window, with your custom stuff showing, would be helpful.
In BIAB,You may have some styles in a folder you have to call Styles, otherwise styles inside won't be found by the stylepicker. Don't forget to Click Rebuild after moving the styles into the Styles folder.
The screen shot shows what happened after I made the changes. Note in the style list that the 'test' style has disappeared from the list of all styles.
Almost all of my styles are in L:\bb ONLY those styles are found when I run the style picker dialog
The styles in, for example "L:\bb\Artist Performance Sets\Artist Performance Set 1 - Jazz Swing & Bossa" are not listed in the style picker dialog (even after rebuilding the list).
It's not a major issue for me. I'm just curious if this intentional? Assuming any of the styles in those sub-folders are unique styles, it would be nice to see them in the style picker dialog.
As John-Luke has indicated above, there are only two folders that Rebuild will look at when it creates the lists. These folders are x:\bb and x:\bb\styles. If styles are stored in any other directory/folder, they will not be found.
I do believe you have discovered a 2014 'feature' (bug). I have some custom styles in the \bb folder that are classified as My Styles in the Stylepicker editor. Those styles are not showing up in the 'My Styles' category but in Bonus3 [World Synths] at the bottom of the list. If I add another category beneath the 'My Styles' category, they show up correctly in the list.
You may want to report the bug. No big deal to me as I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out.
This may or may not be the problem, but the fix has worked before.
Close BIAB. Then, using a text editor, edit the "BBW.LST" file and go to the very bottom and add a single extra blank line to the bottom and save it. Do the same with your *.ls3 files.
Open BIAB and rebuild the stylepicker. See if the styles are picked up then.
Also, remember, styles can only be in C:\BB or C:\BB\styles. Anywhere else, and style picker won't pick them up. (Of course, if you installed BIAB in a location other than C:\BB, make the appropriate adjustments... for example, mine are in D:\Apps\PGMusic\BIAB and D:\Apps\PGMusic\BIAB\styles.

Thanks for all the tips. I didn't realize they styles could only be in the root or /styles folder. I also didn't see that in the manual/help files. Question answered, thanks everyone.
