The best combination, IMHO, is to have Dylan write the songs and to have the Byrds sing them.

Everything Vanilla Fudge did was super.

Anything Peaches sang was better than the original!

I will add that Chubby Checkers version of “The Twist” was better than Hank Ballards version.

Some covers are virtual copies of the original, like CCR’s version of “Susie Q”, originally written and sung by Paul Hawkins.
