OK, I do not have 2014 yet so I could not generate a .btu file. But I downloaded the 1 minute pop template and wrote/played these two tracks. I have been wanting this for BIAB for a long time and planned on doing a series of this style later in the year when I had time. These should support the way BIAB handles RTS.

Rockabilly Retro 1, Electric Guitar: Tempo 120.
1 lead track
1 'sleepy vibrato' track.

I included the .sgu with the .wav files. I hope this was correct.
I will create my own template and get in one more lead and rhythm before months end!
Thanks Tobin, Peter and forum! Cheers!

Note about .sgu. I only used the bass and drum track. So any additional instruments that load will likely not match the style. You'll have to see for yourself.

Cheers! RG

EDIT: Updated with new file names from Peter. Thanks.

Yes, that is perfect. The sgu and wav are all that's needed, and the program makes the rest of them on the fly.

If you want to add a memo.txt it can describe the usage of the UserTracks, but a generic memo gets created and shown if you don't.

And as you likely know, you can add more material to a UserTrack at a later date.

>> I will create my own template and get in one more lead and rhythm before months end!

Great! Looking forward to it!

Jim, thank you! In truth this is a bit loose perhaps and since I followed the template given by PGM, I stayed kind of 'major' sounding. A bit 'lite'. There is such a wide and exciting variation in the 'Rockabilly' style that I look forward to doing for user tracks. The Dom7 Travis riffs/style which is so prevalent with players like Scotty Moore, Luther Perkins, Grady Martin, Cliff Gallup etc. That's really really fun.

Peter! Much much thanks! I appreciate the contest and support. I do hope my next effort will bit a bit more fluid and less 'following' the template so to speak. I wish I had the upgrade as I would have loved to preview these to see how they were working and adjusted accordingly. Anyway, you are all appreciated. Cheers! RG

Bad news, so far I haven't been able to get your Rockabilly user track to show up in my user track folder. I've played both wav files and they work fine in the Windows media player. I've also been able to load the SGU file into BIAB. I'm thinking there is something wrong with either the folder of file naming conventions but haven't figured it out so far.

By the way, I'm assuming the 105 BPM rate for the SGU is correct. The style has a different default BPM.

Perhaps someone will figure out the issue. I'm assuming I'm not doing something wrong since other user track folders are seen by BIAB and work.

Jim, the tempo is 120, recorded at 120 I did not change anything from the PG provided template. I may have included the wrong .sgu, that's all. I had an old one and changed the name and I did not even check before uploading.

I am re-uploading the files now. As for naming convention, I just assumed I could name the .wav anything I wanted? Feel free to download the new files. Cheers! RG

EDIT: I just checked, the .sgu is 120 on my end. Correct style loaded etc.

Great Job on the 2 UserTracks Rodney....

Note that to make UserTracks, I needed to edit some names:
- The files needed to be in separate folders, and I gave them names like:

Guitar, Electric Rockabilly Retro Lead Rodney Ev 120
Guitar, Electric Rockabilly Sleepy Vibrato Rodney Ev 120

.. and I needed to make the WAV name the same as the SGU file.

You can see the changes I made, by downloading the UserTracks in the .zip below.

But first, you can hear demos of the UserTracks in action...

Here's a demo of Lead Demo Rodney, on a different song, different style
https://www.dropbox.com/s/19uj3iatqmayigf/RodneyLeadDemo.WMA

Here's a demo of Sleepy Vibrato Rodney, on a different song, different style
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bs7q2xj9a06d5sq/RodneySleepyVibratoDemo.WMA

Here is a link to your UserTracks. People can download this, and install it by installing it to c:\bb\RealTracks\UserTracks folder.

Thank you Peter and my apologies, I did not know about the naming convention. I did not read or follow the instructions very well!

And as for those sample styles...whew! Outside the box there! LOL! Interesting anyway and fun to hear. I think they likely work best with 'country train' beats. I do wish I could have previewed them in different styles before submitting but they are pretty style specific and meant for a limited instrumentation.

I'll do a couple more and see what we come up with.

Thanks again! Appreciate it!

Cheers, RG

Rodney, I downloaded the PG modified zip file and both wav files work great. I tried dreamy with an all midi style, J_Cash.STY, set at 120 BPM and a combo style that uses RealTracks and midi,=Cash_GF.STY. Works pretty good with both though, like you mentioned, the timing is a little loose. Lead works really well with the =CashGF.STY. Your playing and the sound of your guitar enhances that style quite a bit. Neat-O!

Hey all, I realize the deadline is up. I did not have time to do any more tracks so those 2 tracks will have to be my entry. I just wish I had known about it sooner I could have worked out the bugs and offered alot of cool country-billy-retro stuff. Ill try in a few weeks.

Anyway, have a great week all and congrats to whoever wins! Cheers! RG
