I buddy of mine (bass player in Kansas) has upgraded to 2014 version. I'm still on 2012.5 which Preston send me as a gift (99$ sale price some time back) to get me addicted to BIAB.
During our telecom today he'd mentioned (if my terminology in correct) having a 'lead generation' option. I'm out of local musician friends to add lead axe to my two current BIAB tunes.
After looking at the packages I'm still not clear which upgrade includes said 'lead generation'?
So...I'm either blind or totally daft....or both.
If anyone can educate me on my query I'll thank all in advance.
He may have been referring to the ability to Generate a Solo (or Melody)?
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
My buddy thought I would not have that option because I only have the cost effective version. Therefore, I did not peruse the tool bar further until you suggestion.
I checked your recommendation and see they are all 'Solo' files are midi which will not work for my writing. I was looking for actual guitar solo 'generation' choices.
Now I see that I'm probably in need of actual guitar tracks (.wav files ?) which are able to be generated/re-generated. If my perception is correct I think I need to upgrade to some special package but don't know which one I need?
Obviously, I'm still on the knowledge acquisition curve.
In the more complete versions, the Soloists definitely include Real Tracks (not MIDI) There's no shortage of Guitar Solos available.

What I'm really looking for in my update is 'Real Tracks' options? Not my erroneously stated 'solo generation' comment.
So, in my upgrade decision I should look for the amount of inclusive Real Tracks to get the guitar solo choices and ability to re-generate?
I'm not seeing any Real Tracks button of what's available or how to choose because of my entry level version I have homework to do if my above presumption is correct.
If you can bit the bullet $$$bullet that is at minimum get the Ultra Pak Plus. This has all of the realtracks except the bonus packages purchased with some of the special year end deals.
This will make you a happy camper, except to the beans you have to eat for a few months.
Just checked the upgrade page and see the UltraPakPlus with Real Tracks 1-205.
I'm only on 2012.5 and unfortunately can't justify 300$ so I'll just have to keep it on my radar for future consideration should some sale rear it's head. If it were half that I could probably get my better half to concede.
I'd still be rationed to one legume and one kernel of rice per meal for a month or so....but, it would be worth it.
Real bummer items like food get in the way of these purchases. Also the other half is vital support....t.r.e.a.d very gently there.
Ha...isn't that the truth...too bad I've grown so accustomed to eating well. BOLD: Being a male I've come to the conclusion that a happy wife means a happy life. So far, so good so I'll work on my convincing skills and see what some fortuitous future sale may offer.
There is a "lead" or solo generator in BB. I rarely use it except out of curiosity.
I use BB as a writing tool to compose the song and get the tempo, key, and structure correct.
I use Real Band for generating all the tracks.
In Real band, the real tracks give you the choice between rhythm or solo tracks.
Just grab one of the ones marked "solo" to add "lead" parts and fills to the songs.
Open the song file in Real band, then select a track in it's entirety then click on an unused track and generate a real track from the drop down.....
scroll down the list until you reach "guitar" then scan the rhythm/solo column and find a solo guitar RT that fits the tempo.
click it and let it generate and then listen. I don't think 12.5 has the auto-demo function that 2014 has..... If it doesn't work like you want, simply delete it and try another track. When you go to regenerate a new track for the second time, your previous selection will still be highlighted saving you time to scroll down and find where you were.
I use envelopes to bring the parts in and out in my DAW.....and BTW: Real Band is a DAW.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.com Add nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
