I would like to save a guitar track as a midi for editing in a DAW. I know a good deal of the acoustic finger picking guitar Real Tracks can be saved as midi tracks, but I would like to know if I could save the midi with 6 separate tracks, one for each string. I want to try some guitar libraries in my DAW with control of each string. I'm sure there is a way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I understand that solidrock .... what I really want to know is if it is possible to save the guitar track as midi, that is six midi tracks, one for each string. Then I would have full control in a DAW for bending, hammer on/off, slide, harmonics etc.
I'm sure I read way back that it is possible.

I know the MIDI styles with bossa guitar put each string on a separate channel. I assume other midi guitar parts do the same. Can't speak for RT guitars as I'm not at my BIAB machine.

Sorry not really sure if you mean RealCharts for the RealTracks ? But have a look at Guitar Pro 6 or Tabledit you can import midi and edit individual strings and put in HO PO Bends Slides Vibrato etc...

Options for Midi Files (not RealCharts)
Write Guitar part on 6 channels
If set to YES, the styles that are Intelligent Guitar Styles will result in a MIDI file that has the Guitar part written on 6 channels (11-16). Then, when you read it in PowerTracks, or another sequencer that uses the convention of 11-16 for guitar strings, the guitar part will display correctly.

Worked it out ...... can't do it in Studio One but Reaper does it.
