Yes, well I first approached Support and they assured me that it worked fine... but they were on win 7 also. What they didn't consider was that this was a working system that was running for many years and always accepted previous upgrades without a hitch.

Also the fact that it shows the same behaviour on two different XP machines leads me to suspect an XP problem. Further, when 2014 is deleted the problem stays for a re-install of 2013, so the problem lies in the file that doesn't get deleted.
