Sono nuovo di BIAB (che mi sono regalato a Natale, versione 2014 per Windows) e sono un dilettante nel senso che non ho obiettivi professionali da raggiungere. Sono pensionato, quattro volte nonno con una moglie invalida il che mi lascia meno tempo libero di quanto si potrebbe pensare. Prima di BIAB avevo fatto qualcosina con programmi come Music maker, Reaper ed altri simili. Scaricando BIAB mi sono trovato anche Real Band ma da quattro mesi mi sto concentrando solo su BIAB. Conosco bene l'inglese ma avere il programma in italiano mi aiuta moltissimo (grazie Maurig). Ho ottenuto subito eccellenti risultati, grazie anche ai videocorsi di Seranto, ma, man mano che conosco il programma mi rendo conto che le potenzialità sono enormi e per me ancora in gran parte da scoprire. A Real Band ho dedicato per ora solo qualche occhiata ma qui vengono fuori le mie domande.
Perchè avere una altro programma? Quali sono le differenze tra i due? Quando conviene utilizzare un programma e quando l'altro? Qual'è il loro livello di integrazione?
Mi fermo qui per non tediarvi ulteriormente. Mi piacerebbe però che qualcuno più esperto di me mi chiarisse le idee anche per consentirmi, ora che mi avvicinerò anche a Real Band, di "vedere" da subito il programma con gli occhi giusti

Ciao. Benvenuto su questo forum. In effetti Biab e Realband si integrano parecchio, e fanno anche alcune cose in comune. Ma restail fatto che Biab é uno strumento per creare basi di accompagnamento, con un numero enorme di varianti e di possibilitá. Volendo crea anche brani completi di melodia, e lo fa anche senza dargli istruzioni particolari. Realband invece parte come sequencer, cioé come registratore multitraccia midi e audio. Per cui poi si può usare anche per modificare alcune tracce delle basi create con Biab, cambiarne il mix, aggiungere effetti, ecc ecc. Quello che ti ho descritto è la sintesi della sintesi, ma se vedi anche solo i manuali brevi, capirai che le possibilitá che nscono dall'averli tutti e due sono quasi infinite. Avrai, ne sono sicuro, ore e ore di divertimento creativo enorme e, se suoni pure, allora non ne potrai più fare a meno.

Grazie Maurig come suonatore sono una frana anche se suono parecchi strumenti ma mi piace la musica sia ascoltata che studiata. Ho capito che BIAB è un formidabile arrangiatore e che RB è essenzialmente un sequencer ma con possibilità estremamente avanzate. Ieri ho iniziato ad usarlo, non prima di aver seguite le lezioni di introduzione di PG Music. La mia prima impressione è che abbia praticamente tutte le funzioni di BIAB oltre a quelle offerte come sequencer. Inoltre usa gli stessi stili, gli stessi vst e ha gli stessi effetti audio. Inoltre mi sembra quasi più semplice da usare (questo forse anche perché ho iniziato ad utilizzarlo direttamente in italiano). Anche la gestione dei fili midi è più semplice ed intuitiva. Così mi sembra che sia anche per le registrazioni anche se non ne ho ancora fatte. A questo punto mi chiedo perché due programmi anche se fortemente integrati fra di loro? Cos'ha BIAB che RB non ha e viceversa? La tentazione che ho in questo momento è quella di mettere da parte BIAB ed utilizzare solo RB per fare tutto ma capisco che non può essere così e che c'è qualcosa che mi sfugge. Cos'è Maurig?

A differenza di Band-in-a-Box, RealBand non ha molte delle caratteristiche aggiuntive "intelligenti", come il Solista, il Melodista, l'armonizzatore o il Vocal Harmonizer, la sostituzione guidata degli accordi, ecc..
Quindi lo sviluppo di idee per nuove canzoni e l'utilizzo del programma come strumento educativo o per fare pratica sono più facili in Band-in-a-Box.
Invece in RealBand si ha il controllo completo sulla registrazione e sulla modifica del brano musicale per singola traccia, così come nel missaggio. L'aggiunta di effetti, la rifinitura del lavoro di mastering sono più agevoli in RealBand.
Per cui spesso si parte da BiaB per la fase "creativa", una volta ottenuto il brano questo può essere passato a RealBand per dargli quel sound professionale tipico si una buona sala per incisioni e post produzione.
