Long story short, I stuck a straight pin into his antenna lead causing the linear amp to blow the next time he keyed the mic. The guy moved the following weekend.
A bass player friend of mine was considering that on a guy he had a dispute with. I don't know that he ever followed through..... but I knew the guy and it sure would have been a well deserved bit of mischief.

On the way home from the island of Skye one Sunday morning I was chatting to a friend of mine who was one of THE most popular cbers in the UK. Jolly Roger 556 Willy. He was a personal friend of many years. Sadly he died a number of years ago. Anyhoo, an Italian broke in looking for a radio check he was testing a new directional beam. " Wot ees my seegnal please ? " Now he was blowing smoke but I thought I'd wind him up. " Strength 1 " " OK stand by" you could hear his amp powering up " Strength now ? " " 2.5 with some QSB " again he keyed the mike and you could hear more power getting pushed into the amp. " Your strength is now 3 still with QSB " He must have been going nuts by now. " 1281 my report now please ? " Strength 4 barely.... He must have been running 2kw by the time I finished " I sorry I must QRT My amplifier vert ot. "

While stationed at Reese AFB near Lubbock, Texas a coworker's motorcycle broke down near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He called at 5 PM wanting to know if I could go to the base for his motorcycle trailer, pick-up him and his bike and make it back to the base in time for 8 AM roll call. I said sure and the adventure was on.
On the return leg of the trip time was running short so we were going "a little" fast. We found a good buddy to scout for us and thought he was perhaps 15 to 20 miles in front of us. Turned out we were 60 to 80 miles in front of him.

Do people even still use CB anymore? I had one for quite a while, one that could move from car to car and a base station. It just got old after a while. Like most things, the idiots ruined it. Sitting and talking for hours at a time without ever releasing the mic. I may pick one up just to monitor the highway once I start traveling more. Likely this fall. Spent this first year of retirement making improvements to my house so I had no money to travel. Now with all new windows and gutters, that's all done and I can take to the highway. Me and the dog! LOL!!!
First stop? Nashville. Then over to Ashville to wander around in the mountains.

Hard to find metal on a car with enough strength to hold a whip antenna in place. Heck, even pick-up trucks don't have strong metal bumpers much any more.

So your method of handling disputes is something as cowardly and gutless as vandalism under cloak of darkness and damaging someone's property? Things that he worked hard to earn money to purchase and enjoy?
Nothing like solid values and a strong moral compass.... Glad you don't live in my neighborhood. You might break into my house and take a hammer to my keyboards because you can hear me practicing. God forbid the world go on around you without your permission....

Hey Eddie,
I agree in principle, but as far as I'm concerned the only way to handle a bully is to kick him until he apologises for being in the way of your foot.
I reckon this guy qualified as a bully: enforcing his will to dominate everyone else in the building despite reasonable objections made correctly in the first place.
Bully's are like trolls - ya don't feed 'em and ya don't let 'em win.

Still used in the uk but not as popular. It was the DJs that used to **** me off As I said 6 months on FM was more than enough for me. At least on SSB & AM most of us behaved ourselves. I remember going over to Belgium on year and gor completely lost in thick fog in Yorkshire. I got a hold of the trucker in front on the cb and he told me he'd take me to the right turn off. He had to detour about 40 miles off his route as well. Got me out of a few tight corners the cb did. Do people even still use CB anymore? CB kicked off big style in the UK from around 1977 or 1978 due to a couple of films, Smokie and the Bandit being one of them, where CB radio use was prominent in the films. At that time it was illegal and though some rigs were available with FM it was mainly AM and SSB which had been smuggled into the country. It was great fun, however there became a pressure group pushing for it to be made legal, plus the younger kids were getting rigs given to them, so by the time the legislation was changed and CB became legal in 1981, there were just too many idiots who were just messing about to annoy everyone else. That is when I decided to take the Radio Amateurs Exam and get a ham license. Passing the exam entitled you to a "B" grade license where you were only allowed to transmit on VHF frequencies and a maximum power of I think 50 or perhaps might have been 100 watts. Two years of damned hard work learning morse code and manged to pass a test at twelve words per minute to then gain the full "A" class license giving me all of the allocated amateur radio bands.
I still maintain the license and still have the two transceivers, though haven't used them for years now.
For the record, the call sign is G4TMY.

Let's just say that Jimmy is a bully and steals kid's milk money.
Do you wait for Jimmy to turn his back and hit him with a weapon?
Or do you face Jimmy like a man, eye to eye, and handle the problem?
What he did was sneak up behind Jimmy and attack hi with a weapon, and that makes him WORSE than the bully. There are agencies to deal with amateur radio users running illegal power amps. Sneaking around in the night like a true coward (in essence attacking him from behind) is not the right way to deal with it. Ever. I find what you did despicable.
I faced off with many people in my years. I won most of them. Sometimes I lost. And when you lose, you take it and learn from it.
PS. To brag about VANDALISM in a public forum speaks to your character. I am out of this one now.

No need to PM. Damaging someone's property is never okay. Never. No amount of backstory is going to validate damaging property that someone works hard to buy. But that's just me. I would rather lose a face to face fistfight than backstab someone in the dark.

You're correct - vandalism of other peoples property is unacceptable - he was vandalising theirs first!
I don't condone the action taken, but I sure as hell understand it! You can be as high and mighty as you like but I hate bullys with a passion you may never understand - take 'em all out is what I reckon - let the rest of us live in peace for a change.
Perhaps what you forget is that desperate people do desperate things. From your comments you have never been truly desperate. I pray you never are, because you may never be able to look at yourself in the mirror again.
