Still used in the uk but not as popular. It was the DJs that used to **** me off As I said 6 months on FM was more than enough for me. At least on SSB & AM most of us behaved ourselves. I remember going over to Belgium on year and gor completely lost in thick fog in Yorkshire. I got a hold of the trucker in front on the cb and he told me he'd take me to the right turn off. He had to detour about 40 miles off his route as well. Got me out of a few tight corners the cb did.

Do people even still use CB anymore? I had one for quite a while, one that could move from car to car and a base station. It just got old after a while. Like most things, the idiots ruined it. Sitting and talking for hours at a time without ever releasing the mic. I may pick one up just to monitor the highway once I start traveling more. Likely this fall. Spent this first year of retirement making improvements to my house so I had no money to travel. Now with all new windows and gutters, that's all done and I can take to the highway. Me and the dog! LOL!!!

First stop? Nashville. Then over to Ashville to wander around in the mountains.
