After you set the beginning of bar 1, how often are you pressing F8? Try using F8 only at the beginning of each major song section or segment (verse, chorus, etc.) or at the beginning and end of a noticeable tempo change.

I've had issues with the tempo doubling when I tap F8 in time with the tempo throughout the song. It's almost like F8 can overload the ACW beat detection.

My guess is you will have to select 3/4 each run. BIAB and RealBand styles are derived from a base timing of 4/4. 3/4 is 4/4 where the last beat is not used. If you have a song that uses both 4/4 and 3/4 time, the 4/4 should come before the 3/4. If I remember, if 3/4 is used first the count-in may still be 4/4.
