This is an old original tune I wrote back in the 70s, but didn't actually record it until the late 90s when I got my first Power Tracks recording program. It seems to me it was PT 6. I'm sure a lot of the old musicians here remember that version, back when the word 'THWACK' was first introduced. (lol) Russ Stanton, another old PT musician, is the person that first introduced me to Power Tracks. A year or two after the turn of the century he and I gigged together under the name 'Back Trackers'. We were a two man band backed up with tracks we created in PT. Somehow, much to my chagrin, I have lost track of him, but still hope to see him again one day. The bull just keeps on comin  If you wrote this song in the 70's, it sure took you long enough to post a link! That looks like Russ in your picture (link), he's still around here every so often. I'm pretty sure you could find him again via this forum if you were so inclined.

Rharv, yep, it was written in the 70s, but it wasn't until I ran into Russ Stanton that I first began to do any recordings. Another friend, Gary Kennon, a recording artist, ask me to accompany him to Russ' home studio to record one of his songs. It was there that I met Russ (late 90s) for the first time. I don't recall which version of PT he was using, but it was PT6 or an earlier version (if PT made an earlier version). Anyway, the very next day I ordered my first of many versions of Power Tracks and still use PT in my home studio from time to time, albeit, I use Sonar in my professional studio. I've also been a beta tester for PG music in the past, although I haven't done it in a while.
I tried sending several private messages to Russ on this site, but haven't heard back from him as yet. He stays pretty busy, but I'm sure he'll contact me in due time.

Hey Danny!!!! Thanks, it's good to hear from you too. I've been wondering if you're still playing music. I very seldom get a chance to visit PG. I'm in the process of revamping my studio. I suddenly found out I had termites. UGH!!!! lol
I sent Russ several private messages and sent email messages to his old email address, but haven't heard back from him. He stays so busy he probably just hasn't had time to reply or maybe he hasn't gotten my messages.
Are you still pickin' and grinnin'?
By the way, did you know Rodney Giroir, a steel player from Robert, Louisiana? He died a couple of weeks ago. According to his wife, Patsy, he had been working around his yard that afternoon. He came into the house and told Patsy he was having trouble breathing. She said he died on the way to the emergency room. Later I found out it was a blood clot that had gone to his lungs. It's a shame he died so young (in his 50s), and just in his steel guitar heyday.
Anyway, thanks for the reply and hope to chat with more often.

Russ took up flying model airplanes. Last I heard, he was really enjoying himself.
