...the John Legend song which is on the web but I've never heard of him.
I'm referring to the 'All Of Me' song in Steve Martin's movie 'The Jerk'.
I just found myself humming this one and I've always liked it.
Anyone care to point my in the right direction?
I came here first..thank you.
Carry on....

Here is one link for a starter. It has chords and lyrics for the old classic. There were many other links. Boolean search term on Bing was: All of me chords -"john legend" (The minus sign and name in quotes excludes all results with the exact phrase "john legend".) HTH, R.

Search YOUTUBE .... it's my "go to" resource for music research.
You will find the most obscure bands and artists that no one has ever heard of, and some of them are so new that they are not yet industry names.
You also find dozens of versions of the songs and more and more you find "how-to" videos on playing the song, solo's in it, etc....
Useful stuff to be found on YT

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Ryszard.... Yep....that's the one I was looking for. Thanks for getting me to that site and the search tip. Guitarhacker.... I did google and YT search late last night but always ended up with this version: http://www.guitaretab.com/j/john-legend/377580.htmlMaybe I didn't search long enough but I never did find the version Ryszard recommended which was written by Seymore Simons and Gerald Marks and not John Legend. Thanks gentlemen for the responses. Carry on....

The same Boolean search on youtube (all of me -"john legend") returned this page. There are a lot of amateurs, but the first link is from the Piano Guys, and has an interesting link. Many, but not all, sites support Boolean searches. Look up Boolean search terms and learn how to use them. They will filter out a lot of junk, i.e., stuff you aren't interested in. R.

Maybe I didn't search long enough but I never did find the version Ryszard recommended. I wonder if dementia is rearing it's head in my neurons. smile nah, don't even joke about dementia ... the web is like a huge encyclopedia without an index. Ryszard gave the best tip when he mentioned using plus and/or minus signs in conjunction with quoted strings. But not all search engines seem to handle that convention the same way. Apparently it works on BING, and I use it successfully on YAHOO... I've tried it on GOOGLE and it didn't seem to work the same way And I agree with Herb's assessment of YouTUBE. Its become my first stop too... (and usually the last)

[quote]the web is like a huge encyclopedia without an index. Ryszard gave the best tip when he mentioned using plus and/or minus signs in conjunction with quoted strings. BOLD: I didn't think about in that way and obviously I wasn't familiar with search protocol that suggested. A learneth moment for me. Thanks Pat and Ryszard...

I was using Bing for my initial search and should have mentioned that. Here is the direct link to the youtube page I wanted you to see. On Google's home page, click on "Advanced Search" just to the left of the search box. There you will find some tools and suggestions. It is far from complete; Google "advanced Google search" for still more information.

Ryszard.... I've never been too hip on the 'advanced search' protocols. Obviously, it was necessary for this 'All Of Me' version quest. Thanks again....
