I'm not at my BIAB computer, but there are at least two ways to fix this. One would involve Edit, Transpose or something like that (I've forgotten from version 2011). But a method you may like better involves going to the Preferences menu, and I think it's called MIDI Channels. You will see a list of the instruments. Find Melody, look for the Pitch column and change the value of zero to +12 to raise an octave, -12 to lower pitch an octave. The value of 12 means the number of half-steps, where 12 is an octave.

EDIT: OK - I had a chance to check this in BIAB 2014. I think these commands also worked in version 2011.

Melody, Edit Melody Track, Transpose Melody Only. +12 to raise an octave, or -12 to lower an octave.

Or:

Opt., Preferences, Channels. Go down to the row labeled Melody. In the second column called Octave, put 1 or -1 for up / down an octave respectively.
