Hi everyone! I was looking to possibly upgrade BIAB and want to justify it to my wife. When does PG have their sales for upgrades? I know they have something around Christmas, but I thought they do in summer as well. If so, when have they typically done it? Thanks in advance for helping a guy get his music out!

they typically have a sale mid-year but the end of year sale is usually a better deal. when I bought it it was Sept and then in Dec I had to pay again for the upgrade. if you can wait until Dec you'll get your best deal.

I'm on 2012.5....
I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a sale similar to what they had recently on the UltraPlusPak which IIRC was about $150 bucks.
I'm presuming at this moment that this UPP is what contains many of the RT lead guitar tracks?
IMO...I do think it's worth the current asking price and would love to do the above upgrade.
But, my budget (retired Dec. 2010) is not able justify $299 without having my wife file for divorce.
I'll continue to lurk for something within my budget as time rolls on.

It all depends on what version you currently have
Example if say you have 2012 plus pack and want to upgrade to 2015 plus pack that would be far cheaper than upgrading to say 2015 everything pack
But say you have 2014 everything pack then you might think about just upgrading the 2015 version and just the new additions rather then repurchasing stuff you already have ... Real tracks ect... Just wait till December.. They post the pricing plans and you can always call pg and they will happily tell you the right fit for your needs...

Thanks John! Do you happen to remember the difference in price by chance? The prices can vary quite a bit depending on whether it is summer or end of year and also depending on what you are upgrading from and to. I purchased Band In A Box 2012.5 on September 8, 2012. There were no new user specials or discounts so I paid full price ($469 plus $15 S&H) for the software. On December 1, 2012 they released the full 2013 version at a special price of only $329! So I had spent $140 extra by not waiting until Dec 1! Oh and then I had to spend more $$ to upgrade to the 2013 version!! By the time I was upgraded to 2013 I had paid almost double what new 2013 customers paid! Wish I had waited until Dec 1!

Simply tell her that you are the man of the house, the king of your castle and you make these types of decisions and buy what you want. And if you still have arms and a functioning brain after that you will have a great time with BIAB.
PS: Keep in mind this free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it and mileages may vary, from wife to wife.
