Whenever there is a new part marker in BiaB, this indicates a new section. And the next bar starts on a new line.

When writing text, you put in a new lines when a new paragraph begins. This is analagous to that.

You can disable that behaviour, either for a single song (Song Settings- start a new section on a new line), or for all songs (Prefs-Display-New Section on a new line).

If you think of a song that has a 1-bar intro, and then 4 x 8 bar sections, this setting puts each of the 4 sections on a new line, whereas if you don't, it puts them all starting on the middle of a row.
