The fact that you see the chords change but only hear one chord playing over and over indicates that you probably generated the repeat without clicking the "generate (insert) new bars" check box and that you are viewing the chord chart in "Fake Sheet" mode. If you turn off fake sheet view you will have a linear song form and you should see that the chords were not generated. The repeat options are very confusing at first until you work with them for a while and the light bulb finally goes on in your head!
