Hi
I know copyright comes up quite a lot on here but after a bit of searching couldnt really find a difinetive answer to my situation.
I have created an album of 11 tracks using Band in a Box, the songs are original and ive used some real tracks in these songs but I have used the soloist realtracks and spliced, edited and composited multiple takes to form a melody line and some unique solos.
A sample of this is over in the showcase forum "Believe".
My question is would I be breaking any copyright utalising the soloist in this way as I would like to sell the album?
I cant really see why I would be as the melodies are unique in the fact I have spliced bits together as you would a loop but wasent sure if this is against any PG policies.
Would just like to ensure before I look at marketing it that I have done anything I shouldn't.

Hi Adrian,
If the songs are 100% original works of yours, you're free to use whatever Realtracks (soloists, rhythm, background - single takes or spliced Realtracks).
Provided you own a legitimate copy of Band In A Box, there is no copyright associated with putting your own mixes together and marketing them.

About a year ago I asked this same question directly to PG Music and they confirmed what the other folks have already told you. Anything you create with PG Music is 100% yours (unless you copied another pre-existing song!)
