I want to use a 1 bar drum (Real drums) lead for my song.I choose it from preferences and it plays correctly. But I'm having trouble getting it to render correctly. What should be marked in the Audio render Box for this to render correctly.

Thank you.

You can get the drums to play solo....

Simply add one measure before the song and if the song is in the key of A you add 3 dots and a "d" (A...d) The drums will play solo. You may need to attempt the render a few times to get it close to what you are seeking...

If a full measure is not needed.... place the A...d into the second half of the measure.

Note: I believe the 3 dots are correct. I have a hard time remembering all the details when I'm not in front of the DAW. One and two dots following the chord also do different things to the chord.... so it's one of those.

The small "d" tells BB to solo the drums.... if you insert "db" you get bass and drums solo, "dbp" solo's drums bass and piano....and so on. Knowing that allows you to really do some creative things. I'm working on a tune right now that uses this very thing through out the song.

Thanks Guitarhacker,

I've used that method before. I was trying to use the count-in options from the preferences menu, where you can choose from either the stick count-in or several drum count-ins.

Go to options/preferences/count-in/Met. and check Allow lead-in bars, smart lead-in and any other option that you may want. Now in the lead-in type click on the down arrow and pick the lead in style that you would like. Note this works for 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures.

Good luck.

.
Go to AUDIO>RENDER MIDI TO STEREO...

Look carefully on the "Render" pop-up. In the lower left there are a couple of options related to the count-in. Forgive me if you have already seen these. They are easy to miss.

Hi Frank,

I've just had a play around with the 1-bar lead-in (BIAB ver. 2014). Like you, when I generate the song and play it, all works fine. When I go to render the audio, though, it defaults to a 2-bar lead-in. I can't seem to render the 1-bar lead-in whatever settings I use.

I suggest you send an email to support@pgmusic.com and ask if this is normal behaviour.

Regards,
Noel

Here's the answer from Kent at PG Support.

Hi Frank,

I noticed this a while ago. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to render a one-bar intro at this time. We're aware of the issue, and it's just a limitation of the program for now.

If you render the two bar intro, you could open the WAV file in an audio editor (or even RealBand), and delete the first half of the intro.

I'm sorry that I don't have a better solution at this time.
