I don't know if this happened, but you don't always get a chance to fix it. If instead of explicitly saving first you just closed RealBand (knowing that you will be prompted to save any changes you made), then it would ask you to save your work and then once you do, it will close the program. If you saved as the wrong format, then those tracks would be gone.

I think that the default for RealBand should always be a SEQ file. Once there, you can save to your heart's content to any of the other formats, but the first save ought to be a SEQ (whether the source file originally loaded was MIDI, audio, BIAB, or whatever).

And yes, this has happened to me before, as well.
