IMO a fermata can be very subtle. If you have a very keen musical ear, I image you can hear it and it can make a big difference. But to the average listener it may not always even be noticed.

This is actually an important point for using BIAB. Many songs can be quickly entered into BIAB and if you are not "picky", they will play just fine. But if you have a strong musical preference and simply NEED to have that formata, or NEED to have that specific lick or repeated motif or drum groove or you NEED to hear the b13th of the dominate chord at that specific upbeat, then you may be disappointed by BIAB. We have seen this here in the forum many times for newbees.

You have to be flexible and imaginative to get the most out of BIAB which is really about having fun with the music.
