I don't do much of what you are asking, but I'm sure others will shortly have your answer. I think BIAB expects a 2-measure worth space at the beginning. You could use an audio editor such as the free program, Audacity, to add silence.

I believe that if you use the Audio Chord Wizard feature to import and analyze your MP3, and set the beginning of the song correctly (with or without pickup) that ACW brings in the song with the correct timing.
