If my memory served me correctly, I thought the mixer sliders did adjust at one stage, so this was confusing when I checked again and they didn't adjust.
For my test I had just quickly created a song in BIAB using the Melodist, tested the sliders in BIAB and also opened that same song in RB.
However, with rharv's comments as food-for-thought, I went back to double check my findings and found something far more interesting.
In my original test in RB, I had applied volume changes in the mixer to the first track and the sliders and VU meters didn't adjust when the song was playing. I have now reopened the same song into RB and applied volume changes to other tracks and the sliders and VU meters adjust for the other tracks, but not for the first track.
So I set volume control values for another track (Track 3), and it too did not show any adjustment while playing, but tracks 6 & 9 do. Tracks 1, 3 and 6 are MIDI, Track 9 is RealTracks.
The song was playing at the time of the screen capture below, and the sliders can be seen sitting at zero for Tracks 1 & 3.
(Incidentally, this thread was originally in the BIAB forum page, but I'm replying here because it's a RB issue and therefore this is where the thread is most relevant)
Any feedback welcomed. Cheers Trevor

Watch and make sure the time (cursor) rolled past the point where a change occurred on track 1 or 3. The sliders do not 'reset' like they used to, so it actually has to be sent a CC7 message before it will change. Start Play at measure 2 and see if they change ...
Sliders have weirdness since this Node feature was introduced.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

The real problem is that the sliders have completely different behavior depending on which track they are on. Tracks 1 and 3 behave differently to tracks 6 & 9.
All tracks have only had volume changes made by the "Node-based automation" adjustments on the timeline
A: Tracks 6 & 9 adjust dynamically during playback B: Tracks 1 & 2 only adjust when stop pressed
Why the difference?
Here's a video that shows exactly what happens:
The link to the SEQ file is above. Does it do that for anyone else?

Sorry I had a Node Nervous Breakdown trying to get them to sort out the Nodes, in the end I just gave up. When you use other DAW's Nodes they are so easy to work with. It is a shame that PG can't see how ahead Realband could be over other DAWs if they had better programing on the "junior school" GUI, imagine having an interface like Reaper but being able to generate up realtracks/drums and midi ! PG you need to put more development priority into Realband then we can do everything in the same program, start to finish.
But did anyone manage to repeat the issue I witnessed?
If you download the song from the link in the earlier post above, and play it in RB, do you get the same unexpected differences in slider and VU indicators as shown in the video?
All I want is for someone to do that and tell me what they get on their RB. I suspect this might be an operational problem (AKA bug) that really needs to be reported. Completely different slider operation on adjacent tracks within the same song file. What?!

I notice your Volume messages were on different channels than the track, not sure if it would make the difference. See screen shot below of your track's Event List.

It's interesting that all sliders worked for Solid Rock, and not for RHarv or me.

He mentions a Save As routine, maybe this fixes the file (?)
I understood that he meant to right-click on the hyper-link in his post. The SEQ file that SR sent works (sliders on all channels), but he didn't say what changes he made to the file. SR, can you chime in?

Update: PG Music have identified that there is some sort of problem.
It only works if the "default synth" device is chosen for that track (Options > Preferences > MIDI > MIDI Devices, Default DXi/VSTi Synth). Selecting any other synth for the track except for the one with the word "default" next to it and the sliders/VU meters don't move.
Hopefully will be resolved in the next release.
