A couple of solutions spring to mind ...

1. Generate what's on the Soloist track with no shots applied and then freeze the Soloist, put the shots back in and regenerate the song.

2. Swap the instrument on the Soloist track with one of the other instrumental tracks and then use the exclusion. For example if a solo guitar is on the Soloist track, put the guitar on the String track, put what's on the String track on the Soloist track and then use the ..S exclusion for the String track.

P.S. When midi solos and melodies are used, shots and holds don't impact on the Soloist and Melody tracks because these tracks were designed to be instrumental tracks and not backing tracks. Realtracks are affected because they can be placed on the Soloist and Melody tracks as accompaniment.
