Hi all I purchased BiaB 2011 OmniPack and although it was a great investment, I never got around to making all the backing tracks for my solo guitar career, which also never go off the ground...due to lack of time and everything else. Well I broke my left arm a couple of weeks ago and it's going to be a while before I get back to playing again. Other than working on my right hand technique. I'll be checking out the forums more, looking to upgrade my PC (still running XP) and thinking about getting the latest and greatest Biab 2014.

Dan,
Sorry to here about broken arm...bummer.
We are rapidly approaching end of 2014.
Many years PG folks have come out with great upgrade pricing
around early December.
The newer versions have so much to offer, you'll be amazed.
Something to consider while your parts heal and interest grows.

Thanks for the well wishes! It seems to me I made my initial purchase around Christmas time, so yeah better to wait for the end of year sale on '14.
One problem I had in the past was I had too many different platforms that all sort of did the same thing. I never got really proficient with any of them except maybe Cakewalk (Sonar). Don't even know if that's still around. I also had Sound Forge, and EZ Drummer, and Ozone for mastering, then I added in BiaB.
I probably should have started with BiaB and skipped most of the other stuff, and saved my $$.
I just ordered a new box off eBay and once it gets here I'm going to only load the one thing on there and focus on mastering it.

I probably should have started with BiaB and skipped most of the other stuff, and saved my $$..
A musician, like any craftsman, needs his tools. BIAB does what no other tool does, but it don't do everything. You can't cut wood with a hammer or drive a nail with a saw. hehe... I feel so wise after all these years..

Right, it helps to have several tools to work most efficiently and produce quality work.
I also use SONAR (because I learned it long before RealBand or PowerTracks existed), and it is still going strong and is stable with version X3. X4 is expected before the end of the fall, according to past history. BIAB works great with SONAR using what BIAB calls Drag 'n Drop, which has improved with the latest version of BIAB.
I also use Ozone for mastering - love it. Sound Forge is great; I happen to use a competitor, Adobe Audition, for stereo audio editing, but Sound Forge is fine.
All of these are still very much in use by many.
