Is there a way to have more than the 5 standard track options. I have the Bass, Drum, Piano, Guitar, Strings track being utilized, but I would like to add another instrument or two to the band. I don't see a place to just "add" track.

You can use the Melody and Soloist track as regular tracks if you want. I do this all the time. Just add a RealTrack to each of them!

You can add instruments to the Melody slot and the Soloist slot the same as the other 5 "slots". The labels (Bass, Drums, Piano. etc) are just that - labels... it does not matter what instrument is selected to fill them.
So you have 7 tracks (slots) to use as you see fit.

thanks, I tried adding the clarinet to the melody track, but it actually plays a melody, which is not what I want. I was wanting it to be part of the accompaniment.

Right, that's because the clarinet RealTrack is a soloist. It will play its own "melody" as a solo (not your melody).
But try again, this time using a rhythm track not a soloist. It will work.

You can also save a track to wav rename it to the same name as your song file name then when you open the song it will be in the Audio track, or you can have 48 tracks in Realband.

I'm with SR here; if you want more tracks and still want to have BiaB features, try Realband (it comes with BiaB).
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
