Ray, the "arranger" on the Roland is fed the chords in root position and it does predetermined variations. With them in root position, it can "recognize them" properly. They don't sound, they just trigger the arranger. I am using this to create/record to MP3 some backing tracks utilizing my BIAB's chords feeding the Roland's Arranger. Mainly for some dance type numbers/medleys and to take advantage of the Roland canned intro's and ending. And yes, they did sound awkward until I found out how to mute them! Thanks.
