BIAB uses the upper midi channels for harmony creation and for individual guitar strings (if I recall correctly). It's because you're using multiple midi channels on the Melody track (and maybe the Soloist) that the file is saving as MGX. I don't know too much about this, and it's quite possible that I'm incorrect, but I suspect that BIAB's ability to control the upper midi channels is limited. It might be this that's interfering with the Bass, Piano, etc., track information that you want to save.

Have you tried not using the upper midi channels and saving the song as SGU/MGU? It would be worthwhile doing this as it would help determine if it's use of the upper midi channels that's causing the issue.

Personally, I reckon that Realband would be much more suited to your needs than BIAB. In RB, it's possible to set the midi channel of each track individually and to save all settings easily.
