This is an example of how much the demographic for PGM has changed. Biab is no longer just for jazzers, in fact us jazzers have turned into a small minority on this forum which is why I'm spending more time on the Keyboard Corner forum. Here we're surrounded by country pickers and rockers which is ok, no disrespect but still, this thread is growing hair with just one response for a legendary player like Joe Sample. Has nobody here ever heard of the Crusaders? Over on the KC, the RIP thread is three pages of tributes to him.
I love Joe Sample's music and do several of his tunes. The most fun and challenging for me is Carmel. Even though I can play it I've not had a chance to perform it live because it requires rehearsal, a band can't just fake it, it needs the right players and some time.
