I have a nice little uptempo reggae song using all real tracks and real drums (REGGAE2.STY)...what I have been trying to do with no success is get the drums only to switch to a disco style for the verses, then play the main reggae style for the rest of the song.
I've tried using the bar settings dialog box, and also clicking inside the style name and selecting 'change style at any bar' then following down those instructions.
The closest I've come so far is getting the entire song to switch to disco....not what I wanted at all.
Help!

I have to say it .. ever tried Realband?
Makes what you are trying to do real easy. and more ..
It comes with BiaB so you probably have it.
Open Realband and open your song.
Highlight the section you want to generate, select a new blank track (of the 48 available) and generate a new part. When happy, remove the part in the original track and mix the new one in however you like.
Much more flexible and easier for this type of work.
Otherwise I can't offer much help; I'm off working in RB long before I get to the point of wanting one measure edits.

Thanks rharv....that definitely worked! Not in the way I expected but I can see the potential of working this way.
I'm used to a having a lot more control and precision than snapping to grid lines 1 beat apart. But then again I am running RB 2011.
I do plan to spring for the upgrades to 2014 soon though. Thanks for understanding my dilemma and offering a solution though!

RB allows accurate settings. Double click the From-Thru and refine as needed.
Set Options-Resolution to the 3840 setting and you can get real accurate.

Thanks again rharv. I see that resolution settings now, not sure how that translates into quarter/half/ triplet etc, but that's okay.
Since I broke my arm in August I've been spending the most time ever since I bought BiaB/RB a couple years ago and it's been time well spent. I'm not sure why they don't just put all the features in one platform but I guess I understand their strategy.
I think my workflow will be to create the basic song in BiaB, then move it into RB for generating different parts that fall outside the A/B structure, then pull them into Sonar for fine tuning. Just easier for me and I've spent a LOT more time with that program recording all kinds of scratch tracks.
It's been really good getting up to speed with the PG Music stuff and thanks for the help!
