W., unless the preamp/mixer is purpose-made it may be a little noisy. Be sure to listen for this before making critical recordings. If that is the case, a good-quality low-end sound card such as the PreSonus AudioBox USB or several Tascam or M-Audio offerings should set you right. ASIO drivers are essential for minimizing latency to inaudible levels.
