Hi all,

I'm not sure who might be interested in the following but, just in case someone is, I thought I'd let everyone know.

Quote:
Earlier this year, I put together a 6-week program of lyric writing exercises that, step by step, works through Andrea Stolpe's book Popular Lyric Writing: 10 Steps to Effective Storytelling. I am just starting to work my way through those exercises again and, if anyone wants to join in with me, they'll be most welcome.

Simply go to http://songsmiths.free-forum.net/ and sign up.

  • Personally, I've found that Andrea's approach is incredibly productive. It always works for me. The best part is that I don't have to have any concept of a song in mind when I start out! Earlier this year, I wrote three songs over the six weeks from scratch.

Because the above Songsmiths site is heavily protected against internet invasion and search engines, I'll need to "open the door" for you once I get notification of your signing up. Once the door is opened, there are no restrictions on coming and going from the forum.

By way of background information ...

Andrea is a former student of Pat Pattison and she is now a Berklee College colleague of his. Based on Pat's work, Andrea developed a unique and very productive approach to lyric writing that uses the concepts of "external" and "internal" lyric detail.

As I said earlier in the post, if you want to join in, you're most welcome.

Regards,
Noel
