Now I know my age is showing. Most of the songs on that list I've never heard, or heard of, the originals so it wouldn't have done me much good to hear the cover.

The one song I knew enough to listen to, "With A Little Help From My Friends", wasn't recorded well enough to tell if I would have liked the cover song better than the original. What little I did hear sounded like they were attempting to duplicate the Joe Cocker cover version instead of an original arrangement.

For an article like this I'm leary when the word best or the term better than are used. For this song, the version presented is better than what, the Beatles original or the Joe Cocker cover of the original? Who knows.

Obviously I'm taking the article too seriously. After all it is meant to be a topic of discussion around the water cooler or break area.
