Greetings fellow 21st century musicians!
I wanted to introduce myself being I have been gleaning a lot from the discussions here over the past few weeks. At present, I do not own a BIAB kit. When times get a little better I definitely have my eye on the complete package. In the meantime this board is a great place to read how people are using the product familiarizing myself with it so when the time comes to purchase, I will be equipped to jump right in. I don't know about you guys. But, if I am in front of a toy like this; it is full on play. Leave the instruction manual to those who know how to read, I am jumping in!
I have been a musician for almost 40 years. I hope I can bring some insight from that arena to share a thought or two with you all.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
RickeG

Hello, RickeG and welcome to the forum!
Some of us will have have a hard time with choosing only one, but I know that's how the poll works on this forum. My origins are trumpet but I play almost all the winds.
You must be the one who voted Guitar?

The other thing is, Rickie, while I can answer piano, I primarily play 'keyboards', which for me, is significantly different than a piano. My Korg PA series of keyboards allow me capabilities that no piano would.
Also, there are some here who 'None' would be a proper answer, since they are vocalists, and use BIAB and a synth module to create backing tracks for vocals.
Band In A Box, and the attendent Power Tracks Pro Audio and Real Band, are such powerful tools that they can be used in so many different ways than what one might think.
Welcome to the boards.
Gary
I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

Hi RickeG,
I'm relatively new here as well, but the patrons here are very talented, helpful, friendly and encouraging. Also, the BIAB with RealTracks is a great package.

Thanks folks! I am in the right company here. Whenever I am asked what the weather is, I respond with baseball scores! Yes, I am a guitarist. I suppose that is why I overlooked vocalists. To me, no offense, lyrics get in the way between the instrumentals. Though I love those scat singers!

Yeah.........too bad for you the audience in most places don't like extended solo's and evening-filling instrumentals very much
Anyhow, welcome. And don't let it happen again
Oh, I voted guitar as well, since I do both

Just an old folkie - started playing guitar PBE (pre-Beatle Era). While I loved the instrumental days of the Shadows, Chantays and Booker T., I'm a songwriter first who loves good guitar fills and breaks a la David Lindley. Welcome

First of all welcome RickeG.
I had to answer piano, but I don't really think of my synth as one. I'm hopeless on those big wooden boxes which don't have any leads or knobs to turn.

Wow, you mean there were guitars before Harrison and Lennon??? Oops, I think I tripped a couple of you jazz folks!
Man, no matter how you try to cover the bases the poor bagpipe gets forgotten. I am sorry. I always loved the instrument. My most favorite arrangement of Amazing Grace was done on a bagpipe. When it is played right it is a real nice instrument.
Sorry, Mike, but you singers take up too much space on stage! (I am real hard on vocalists being I have accompanied many vocal bands through the years.) I would always tell them that it took four guys to make a chord that I could do on a single instrument. I am glad you have a sense of humor!
As for the big wooden box, how 'bout those big wooden boxes with the levers? I loved the Hammond B3s. No synth can come close to matching its warmth and catlike screams!
