Since BIAB 2005 doesn't have the Green Sequencer button, then a different method should be used, as Martin has suggested.

After opening the KAR file, use the Melody Import feature (it's one of the submenus on the Melody menu). This will allow you to select which channels to import. If you don't know which channel the solo is on, then just try them one at a time (killing the solo between each iteration) until you get it. Once complete, the solo will be on the soloist track. Since it's also contained within the MIDI/KAR file also, you may want to just mute the soloist track, so it's not doubling up. But you should be able to see the notes being played. Depending on how the MIDI file itself was created, you may have to play with some of the other import parameters to import the solo in at the right place in the song.
