I used Dimension with BIAB when I wanted just one sound. Example - use the Dimension Accoustic Bass with real piano, drums etc. Sometimes the tempos aren't right for the real style basses or the playing is too busy or just too far out. The quality of the Dimension basses, pianos and others are great. It seems like some of the midi written parts are more predictable than the "real thing". I use the dimension bass frequently where I want a predictable bass part to sing against (I am jazz oriented). With all of the real tracks available try out Dimension (I have pro) - it works great with BIAB (for one voice).

Dimension can play four sounds at once but I felt that it was more trouble than it is worth with BIAB for more than one voice. If you need a lot of voices use Real Band or Sonar. TTS-1 was my favorite for BIAB but the RD 700 blows it away. I plan to use the Roland 700 SX for auditiong new charts, then exporting to Sonar producer to pick my favorites between Dimension and RD700. The RD 700 sx basses, drums, vocal sounds are first rate. We have used The RD 700 series in clubs/live gigs for years - hard to beat. As for higher patches the RD 700Sx has over 400 instruments/variations.

My problem is now getting any patch map working with the Roland. I downloaded the patch map and put it in the directory but BIAb does not see it as a synth???

Would like a copy of your file - will PM when I figure that out.

Any ideas?

Thanks
