Any Computer Geeks? Help me interpret this Tech Support email
I think it's pretty self-explanatory, first my request for help:

I recently downloaded all updates for my old EZ Drummer and got it working great, including Cocktail Drums. Found my old log in to Toontrack website and got it Authorized, everything working fine in Sonar 5PE and Band in a Box. Lower RH Corner of EZ Drummer Window shows Version 1.4.0 is running.

After about a week or so I decided to purchase Latin Percussion download from Guitar Center and got it downloaded, but it won't install. Error Message states " You need to upgrade your Toontrack software to the latest version before you can install this product."

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled all the updates from the website. EZ drummer still works, but Cocktail won't load now and neither will Latin Percussion.

I am running Windows 7 Home 32-bit and there are no missing updates there, which is what it said to check in the FAQ Page before asking for help.

And here's their response (which didn't work):

Hi Dan,

Thank you for your email.

Another user recently reported of the same error and we were able to reproduce and solve the error.

We solved the error by reinstalling EZdrummer from the full download (download 1.3.2 for PC Button) and then re installing the 1.4.0 update (both the 32 and 64 bit versions).

Make sure that you reinstall EZDrummer from the full download. There is no need to uninstall first. Simply reinstall over the existing version. Then download and install the 1.4.0 update, followed by the installer.

And my reply to Toontrack (hopefully somebody there on their end is still digging in to this further):

I did exactly as you said, but still the same issue. The 64 bit update won't install which is fine my system really is only 32 bit (I know some people might want to run in 32 bit on a 64-capable system for whatever reason) but I still get the exact same message even after reloading version 1.3.2 followed by the 1.4 Update.
My C:/ Program Files/Toontrack folder has EZ Drummer folder and Toontrack Solo folder.
In the EZ Drummer folder I found a tiny file called "Aversion" that said "1.3.2" inside, that was it, so I tried changing that to 1.4.0 in the hopes the Latin Percussion installer was looking there, but it still does exactly the same thing.
The ezdrummer.dll file is in the C:/Program Files/Cakewalk/VstPlugins folder.

MY UNEDUCATED GUESS is that there is a simple line of code somewhere and the Latin Percussion Installer is reading the old date/version and this might be a simple fix for someone who knows were to look. I've got all the parts to the puzzle, everything's legit and all paid for, and everything's supposed to be backwards compatible. My PC and Host DAW are several years out of date but I still think this should all work.

Thank you for reading and if anybody has any non-destructive ideas I'm willing to try just about anything!
