Thank you Charlie,

I have to say I also prefer the BIAB version.
And yes, Anne-Marie's backing vocals really work here.

Regards,
Rob

Hi Alan & Di,

Thank you for your very kind words.
I really like to simulate a guitar solo like that, especially since my solo abilities go nowhere near that level. And my RSI problems aren't exactly getting better.
And yes, the shadow on the wall image is something that we like. We have used it before though.
It was Anne-Marie's idea to create the intro and outro for the song, which I really like. Looks pretty elegant doesn't it?
By the way, how's your condition, and how is Di doing?

Regards,
Rob

ps: thank you for your response on YouTube

Thank you Herb,

yes, it is one of my favorites too, the video anyway.
Like I said in one of the previous responses: it didn't take much time to simulate the guitar solo. It's one of those things I like to do,haha.

Regards,
Rob

Thank you Josie,

yes, I thought it would be a nice idea this time to do a real "live" kind of video. Would like to do this more often.
The entire recording actually didn't take all that much time. And faking a guitar solo is always so much fun to do!

Regards,
Rob

Thank you Floyd!
We are honored by such very positive comments.
This is one of my most personal songs, the lyrics were quite real, at some point in my life. Luckily those days are long gone.
About the style and the real tracks used: I had to do quite some searching in the program to get the style that came more or less close to the original recording.

Thanks again!
Regards,
Rob

Hello Pat,

First I want to thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review on the song. You've done it before, and it is much appreciated.
Yes, I also felt that this song needed a 'live' video to enhance the emotion.
Like I responded to Floyd's comment, these lyrics were quite real to me at some point in my life. Trouble in relationships, anxiety to commit etc. it's always a thankful subject. Given the fact that at least one third of all relationship (probably more) break down at some point, it's something that many people can relate to.
About the guitar simulation, ha ha, you're the first to notice my totally fake tones. My guitar playing comes nowhere near Brent. I was glad I was able to at least simulate the speed of the playing, while I was playing totally random notes!
About the video intro and outro done by Anne-Marie: this was mainly her idea. I think she looks quite elegant here. I especially like her 'turning around' at the near end of the video. This reflects the ambivalence which the song's actually all about.
Our music than: you could describe it as a totally outgrown and time-consuming hobby, which we both enjoy a lot. We are open however to do something commercial with it, although we don't have a clue how to do this. Any ideas or hints on this are very welcome.

Thanks again for your very positive comments.

Regards,
Rob

By the way, I'm also anxiously looking forward to BIAB 2015, to be more precise: all the new real tracks!

I have to agree with Pat Marr on this....Except in my humble opinion I think you should lose the Keyboard track and add a good acoustic one instead.

And if your going to fake a lead solo on the video....better make sure you get it right.

But I love the song and your singing....Just wish it had a good driving acoustic Rhythm track instead of the keyboard.

I'm looking forward to hearing more from you guys....

Horst

Rob,

You had inquired about my focal dystonia and Di's health. Thank you for your concern. You and Anne-Marie are classy and talented folks.

My focal dustonia is slowly progressing in intensity and has taken a toll on my ability to play guitar and to type. But I accept that that's the way it is and I don't fret over it. I've enjoyed 45+ good years in the music biz and made a pretty good living doing it. Di's health issues always have me concerned. She's almost died 3 times in the past 5 years. Her health is extremely fragile. She is making slow but steady progress from her recent stroke. She's in good spirits, though!

Thanks again for your concern. Wishing the two of you well ...

Alan & Di
