What you have done in a DAW is a good method, but in BIAB, you could mute all but the drums by using F5 bar settings. A part marker will cause a drum fill. Different effects are in different styles, but try both an A (blue) sub style part marker and a B (green) to see what sounds best. Sometimes I will put a part marker in both measures of a two-bar fill.

Don't forget to use F5 to turn on the instruments again at the next measure after the fill (un-mute the rest of the tracks).
