Just listened again in the studio. I'm blown away by the production. The groove is reminescent of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams", one of my all-time favorite rock mixes, tinged with the shades of Jeff Beck and Mark Knopfler. Compared with the FM greatest hits disc in my player it seems like it could use more electric bass, but that's a quibble. I wish I could get the clarity in my mixes that I hear here. (Love the Wired-era tremolo on the piano at the end, too.)

The lyrics are elevated by the music. Any band should be proud of a piece produced this well.
