I just love mockingbirds! Unfortunately, since we've owned our property (12 years), there have been none around our home. I live in a rural mountain area on 63 acres. I've seen them in the county, but never by our home. Today I was recording & mixing a version of "Fields Of Gold". Outside my window was a mockingbird singing along. I called my wife to have her hear the bird. She said, "you should try to record him". I did 2 tracks but only used the 2nd take. After all... it was MY song!! What you'll hear is the mockingbird singing the 1st verse. He actually sang the 3rd but I edited it to bring him into singing the first verse. Everything was done by measure. There is no time editing. He sings in time. He sings in key with the changes. And even adds some percussion. (you'll have to listen carefully) I guess he likes the song! I hope he comes again.
