Ed, in the context of jazz fakebooks I've seen, I think 7+4 is interpreted as, add a fourth to the seventh, or 7sus4. In BIAB, just enter 7sus, as mentioned above.

This is why I never use the plus sign. Maybe, just maybe, they mean for that + to mean major 7. Or maybe sharp 4, otherwise better voiced as sharp eleven, or enharmonically flat five./Rant Off/
