Hi, I'm running BIAB directly from the USB HD provided. I'm having some issues/glitches/"non-responding" messages/long processing times... My question is, If I install BIAB in my computer, would I see any improvement on its performance??? I have a lot of memory available in my computer, so that wouldn't be a problem, but I want to know if there will be any improvement... Thanks in advance.

I believe the answer is Yes. Installing to an internal hard drive will always give better performance than any USB drive. Having said that, many users have great success running BIAB from a USB drive.
I would first explore and rule out other causes of not-optimal performance on your computer. First, download and run the free utility Geekbench and report your score. It should be at least 1500. [A newer computer may easily exceed four times that.] Next, download and run the free utility DPC Latency Checker. It should show all green, no red spikes. The website gives instructions. Common culprits include wireless networking and a drive that needs defragging.
USB 3.0 is really nice, but 2.0 should be fine. Some older computers may have some of the USB ports still using USB 1.0 so make sure you are not plugged into one of those. The best choice is always a port on the back of the computer. If you are running from a USB hub, make sure it's a powered hub.
Finally, and this may be overkill, the biggest improvement I saw in running any program was when I loaded it from a SSD drive.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Epastor,
Did you run the setup program and install BIAB so that it runs from the USB drive? I can't remember what option number that one is. It is necessary to do this, though, so that BIAB is set to drive from USB.

I choose Option 1 (20 MB) as I'm getting low on disk space. My (only?) disappointment is the start up time it takes BIAB to get going. Time: 1 min 12 sec before it's ready to start. Once it's up I'm ok with the rest of the program.
I'm thinking about switching to Option 2 (20 GB) as I "know" the start time will be faster. BIAB will be on drive C: and RT/RD will remain on the USB. Haven't decided yet.
Cheers

Finally, and this may be overkill, the biggest improvement I saw in running any program was when I loaded it from a SSD drive.
I have a computer I built with a 256G SSD as Drive C, running Win 7. From power off, takes 33 seconds to be ready to work. Progams load and execute in a fraction of the time of a SATA drive. Only problem is a lot of my favorite music programs use drive C for their data and don't like to be moved. (Plus the FAN noise on that box is just too loud, so I am on a slower 3G Intel i5 quad box. Adequate, but no comparison.) But SSD will KILL when the prices for 1T or larger units become reasonable...
