not infrequently I find problem with the playback of the chords I enter,especially on slash chords. Some examples:
if I enter Bdim/D , I hear Bdim7.
That's a completely different chord because in many cases the diminished seventh will not be diatonic and requires specific treatments.
For example,if the Bdim/D would be diatonic,once you add the diminished seventh the chord will obviously have a note that is not diatonic,and that for example would clash with the melody
another example:
if I enter Cmaj7 and Ab maj7 , BB plays an F# (aug fourth) on the first chord and a Bb (ninth) on the second chord, EVEN if I tick off 'allow embellishment of chord'.
another example:
with the metal realtracks, slash chords don't work. If I type C/G , the bass will still play C, when instead should play G
maybe these are all different problems,but they all relate to the problem of getting BB to play the chords exactly as written. It would be even better if there was a more complete menu about 'embellishment of chords'. For example, to allow only diatonic extensions or to include alterations (augmented fifth,etc)

Quite right, avatars. Why can't there be complete user control of this issue?
When I want a straight Maj7 chord, I should be able to get a straight Maj7 chord, no frills. When I want a [name the chord], I should get that chord, no frills. AND any inversion I want.
And how about support for modal chords such as those from artificial scales like melodic minor, harmonic minor, and harmonic major?

This is a longstanding issue that provoked a lot of heated debate a couple of years back.
What you need to do is go into the pattern editor for the piano/guitar part of each style you're using and in the menu called 'style' choose.... 'set embellish for all patterns of current instrument'.... Set this to 0 and it should have a positive effect on the problem. Make sure 'allow embellishments' in song settings is still unchecked though.
Agreed though that there isn't much point in that particular song setting if it doesnt work and leaves the embellishment setting in the style untouched.
As for the comment about modal chords, it's possible using the above style embellishment settings to harmonise scales with the chords available and by using chord inversions/synonyms.
I'll post my solutions for this next time.
(BTW There is a remarkably effective if somewhat 'labour intensive' way of obtaining complete control over chord voicings which i intend to post in the 'tips and tricks' forum.)
