I like your idea of a "backward resolution" or "what I accomplished last year", rather than setting a goal for the coming year.

For 2014 I had planned to put new siding on my house. Didn't get done, I didn't "resolve" to do it, and I'm not concerned about it. Perhaps it will happen in 2015 and maybe not.

What I did manage to do this year, was introduce BIAB to several people who had never seen it before, 2 of which bought it. I hadn't resolved to do it, it just happened.

That's how I plan to approach my "New Year's Music Resolution" for 2015. Whatever opportunity comes along musically, I'll take it, if it seems appropriate at the time.

For me, life is too short (at my age) to set goals which I may or may not meet. I hope at the end of 2015, I can feel as accomplished at doing ANYTHING as I feel at the end of this year.
