How can I import a BIAB song into RealBand, and then how can I save a RealBand song? These are some basic skills that I'm just not grasping.

In Realband click File-Open and Browse to the desired BiaB song and simply open it in RB..
To save save an RB file, click File-Save As and select 'seq' format for the native RB format. Once saved, the Save icon or 'CTRL + S' shortcut will save the song also.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

In the RealBand program, I click File, Open, and Browse, but when I get to BIAB it shows up empty. I know that isn't true because when I'm in BIAB I can call up any of the songs I saved. Could I be saving the songs incorrectly?

Make sure you are opening the correct file type in Realband. You may have to change to the same extension type you saved in BIAB.

That's where I'm lost. Do I start with "Save Song As" ?

Zeke, When you use "File | Open", make sure that you click the drop-down arrow highlighted and then select "Band In A Box Songs". Also, when you've opened the song and Realband has generated it, click on "Save As | Save File As" and (as rharv has suggested) save it as an SEQ file. This will stop you accidentally overwriting the MGU/SGU file that BIAB created. Regards, Noel

YUP... create and save the song in BB... then it will open just fine in RB.....save it as a SEQ file.... you end up with 2 files for the same song.... one is BB and the other is the audio tracks in RB.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Zeke,
Not only do BiaB and RB default to different types of song files, SGU for BiaB and SEQ for RB, but both also use default file storage locations.
So when you want to open a BiaB (SGU) file in RB, don't forget that when you use the open file command you will need to navigate to the folder or sub folder that stores the BiaB file as well as as set the file type to SGU.
