Very well put together country song with that classic sound. Good lyrics and the back story was good too. Very good stuff.

I enjoyed that a lot, the words painted a wonderful picture.
And a good story behind the idea for the song.

Kirsty McCall did a song years back about a guy who works down the chip shop who swears he's Elvis and YOUR song is up there with it, well maybe just a smidge or two above laugh

Production everything is BRILLIANT.

Well done

Alyn

ps added a funny video of my mate Bert "Taff" Williams, The Melyn Elvis, in the youtube forum.
The Melyn is a district of my home town, Neath, and I reckon he should be called Melvis. grin

Great song of yours tho'

A

Alyn thank you very much.

I watched the video you posted of Melvis. I think that's the first time I've seen anyone do Elvis in traffic. But hey, he was having a good time and the people across the street were singing along... grin

Josie...... kinda glad I finally dropped in on this.

Nice country twanger.... There's a lot to like about this song. I could hear someone like Carleen Carter, or Miranda Lambert singing this..... It's a fun song.

I really liked the production chops you used..... backing out to just drums in a few places. When the guitar brought it back in with a short lick.... that guitar needed a clockwise twist of the volume knob right there...since it was almost lost in the background.

Way to go and looking to hear more stuff like that from you. The song, I think, may have been one of your best so far.

I've never been an Elvis fan but curiosity got the better of me on this and I'm glad I dropped in for a listen..... I played in a band once upon a time where the singer was an Elvis imitator. So much so that he used the EP mannerisms in his "normal" daily life. Sad thing was that this guy really could have made a ton of money in music doing the Elvis shows because he was actually pretty good at it..... but he never wanted to spend the time to get the music right..... "Just give me a "G" chord boys...." I didn't stay in that band very long....

Hey Trev,

Thank you. I've been an E fan all my life so it was especially fun to write.

P.S. I am deaf in my left ear at the moment after getting a cold so I expect it will sound even better once I can hear it in stereo, lol.

Rec, Thank you very much. I hope your ear has cleared up - that has happened to me once when I tried to do the nettie pot to unstuff my head and got my ear stopped up. It was a weird feeling. Bless your heart.

Josie,
I still can't get it to play... (been having trouble with Sound Cloud playing lately)

but I guess you're aware that the PGMusic facebook page featured this song today...?

JOSIE'S SONG

OK, it finally played for me!
It was definitely fun for ME to listen to, but I like the fact that it sounds like YOU had a lot of fun performing it! It was very evident in several places that you were totally unencumbered by self conscious "song writing" inhibitions, because you couldn't have whole-heartedly played with the timing and inflections the way you did unless you were just having a blast!

I especially liked you change of delivery at the lines:
Quote:
"He was holding that door and smiled hello
Oh I thought I might be dead

sounded like you were totally smitten! (I assume that's the feeling you were shooting for, right?)

And the fact that it's based on a true story makes a very clever and fun song all the more intriguing on a whole new level!

Nice project all around Josie! It made me happy to hear you cut loose and let yourself have fun with it!

Josie this is fantastic! I'm late getting here and everything that I was thinking has already been said, i.e. great lyrics, backing tracks and vocal.

This is a keeper.

Hi Josie,

This is incredibly good on every level possible: the production is crisp and sparkles with clarity; your arrangement is thoughtful and very well designed; your singing is both-thumbs-up great; the composition is witty and very intelligently written.

This could all so easily be a hit!

Ok ... I'm heading back to listen again.

All the best,
Noel

Josie -

We've been busy and missed this. Great number! Love the Patsy Cline delay you got on the vocal.
