The best solution to latency issues is to use one of the better aftermarket musical interfaces and use ASIO drivers.

If that's not possible at this time...try ASIO4ALL... sometimes it will solve the latency issue...

You should be able to attempt to alter the latency by adjusting the buffers .... increase a little bit at a time. MME is notoriously bad for latency in music in the way we do it. You experience it most with softsynths and midi. Try working in Real Band with NO midi tracks. Render all of them to audio and see if that makes any difference.

Ultimately, the best long term solution is to add an interface that uses real ASIO.
